Elon Musk says SpaceX will set humans on Mars in just 4 years — and he says there’s nothing more important than this.
“The important thing is that we build a self-sustaining city on Mars as quickly as possible,” he said this week during an interview with Senator Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson on the Verdict with Ted Cruz podcast.
Musk continued by noting that he believed it will only take another 15 years after that to make the planet sustainable for one million people to live there claiming, “I think it can be done in 20 yearsâ€.
Do you agree or disagree with Musk?
His full quote reads:
“The important thing is that we build a self-sustaining city on Mars as quickly as possible. The key threshold is when that city can continue to grow, continue to prosper, even when the supply ships from Earth stop coming at that point, even if something would happen on Earth. It might not be World War III – civilisation could die with a bang or a whimper. So you obviously need Mars to become self-sustaining and be able to grow by itself before the resupply ships from Earth stop coming. That is the critical civilisational threshold beyond which the probable lifespan of civilisation is much greater.
We’re here at the top of a massive pyramid of industry [on Earth]. That starts with mining a vast array of materials (and) those materials going through hundreds of septs [steps?] of refinement. We grow food obviously, we grow trees, we make things out of the threes [trees?], you’ve got to build all of that on Mars.
And Mars is a hostile environment, it sometimes gets above zero on a warm summer day near the equator on Mars, really it’s quite cold.â€

This convinces me that Musk is insane. Otherwise, he would say we must stop killing Earth and humanity. He would know humanity cannot thrive on Mars, because it’s too far from the star that keeps this solar system operating.

Elon Musk – Why, How & When We Will Colonize Mars

Thanks, Amigo. Had two nightmares last night about getting myself stranded in Canada and doing what I went there to do was going to be. serious struggle and getting back to the States was as well. On waking, I recalled Musk was born in Canada, so perhaps that was why I had the two dreams? I watched the YouTube and learned Musk is concerned about the Sun expanding and killing everything on Earth, or something else does it, a giant meteor, or cataclysms inside Earth, or whatever, so it behooves humanity to save its future self by some of it migrating to Mars at great expen$$$$e, and the key is setting off two nuclear fusion bombs, one at Mars’ north pole, one at Mars’ South Pole, which somehow turn into small suns that warm up Mars and melt its surface ice buried in its surface dust, which become oceans, and a great city, which is self sustaining, is built on Mars, and humanity can start over there, and go next to Jupiter, or live in star ships somehow and explore other galaxies, instead of, as you so acutely suggested, “how bout we make Earth sustainable?â€, which doesn’t seem to interest Musk, or America’s current president, or the Republicans in Congress, or the the Republicans elsewhere, or the MAGAs, which causes me to wonder what Musk might really be up to? Might it be the US Government gives Musk/his companies a whole lot more money so that America leads the way making Musk a whole lot richer under the crusade banner of saving humanity in some distant time from itself, or from the Sun, or from a giant meteor, or from the Earth exploding or melting down, either from its own natural causes, or from humanity causing it? Any way I can try to imagine it, it looks insane to me, unless I consider moving some people to Mars long after Musk is dead is a scam to make him, Trump, and other Billionaires who suck up to them a whole lot richer. I ain’t never gonna forget when you went into a trance on my massage table in Santa Fe, after we had graduated from Dr. Jay Victor Scherer’s School of Natural Healing and Massage, and you told me you were leaving Earth and going into deep space, and then you were headed toward a star and then you were going into it and there were beings there, and then you went into a grand mal seizure, your eyes rolled back and only the whites of your eyes showed, and you were shuddering like all hell had broke loose in you, and I didn’t know that to do but keep my hands on you, and after maybe three minutes you started coming out of it, and you said to me, “Sloan, all hell’s going to break loose on this planet.†So, I wonder if Musk somehow got wind of that, perhaps he read about it on one of my blog posts over the years? Or maybe he had his own grand mal seizure and went to the same star? Or he read Stephen Hawking, who predicted the Earth’s eventual demise, which Musk mentions in the YouTube. Whatever, I go back to where I began after reading your post. If Musk gave a shit about humanity and the planet, he would do what you suggested, try to save Earth and humanity. I see you replied to my Part I, so I’ll look at your comment on my cell phone after I post this Part II.

Part II continued. Oh, yes, they will mine the Moon. Follow the $$$, Duh. Where do they get the money to build the space mining fleet, the Mars fleet, the Jupiter fleet? By closing down much of the US Government, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, if not literally, then by making those departments so dysfunctional from loss of workers that they can no longer function. I told the Witch last night, Trump and Musk shutting down American foreign medical aid to undeveloped countries, especially in Africa, could lead to a plague that would threaten the entire world and America trying to save itself by not letting anyone come into America, including Americans stranded overseas. That might please the Project 2025 religious freaks, because they are sure God and Jesus will save them, like God kept saving the Israelites in the Old Testament?

Part Three. Maybe Trump and Musk should read Robert Heinlein’s novel, Stranger in a Strange Land, and learn how the Martians decided the beings on the next planet away from the Sun posed a lethal threat to the Martians, so the Martians gathered together and collectively used their minds to send an energy beam to their neighbor planet, which the energy beam blew into a billion pieces and thus created the Asteroid Belt, which I can imagine Musk and Trump very much would like to mine, too. Yet, as Heinlein’s novel ends, the question arises, will the Martians send an energy beam to blow up Earth to save the Martians from Earthlings?
Around 1992, sitting in my yard in Boulder, Colorado with my 3rd wife and her son and a liberal friend of my liberal wife and me, I saw an oval beam shaped spaceship do circus tricks in the sky no human aircraft could have done, and I watched the spaceship then drag a cloud across the sky like a giant vapor trail caused by a jet airliner, but a much wider vapor trail, and all the time I was telling them to look up and see what I was seeing, and they kept saying, right, Sloan, and they never looked up, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO SEE WHAT THEY KNEW FOR A FACT I WAS SEEING. Meaning, my dear old friend, we, humanity, are not alone, various space faring races have been around and on Earth for a very long time. There are files buried in the US Government and other nations’ governments, which prove we are not alone, but those files are not made public because of the chaos it would create, including governments and religions suddenly not being anywhere near the top of the food chain pecking order. Angels would not have to be dragged into it, because the space faring races will not let humanity colonize Mars, because humanity is too dangerous.
Maybe humanity will be allowed to mine the moon, but imagine the cost of doing that? How many spaceships will it take just to get the mining equipment and building materials to the Moon. How many more spaceships will it take to get the mined minerals back to Earth? How many SpaceX spaceships have blown up before leaving Earth’s atmosphere? How much money has the US Government already given Musk? Wait until Musk and Trump make cryptocurrency legal tender in America, which is what they have in mind doing. Are the children in your school district being taught any of this? I will make a blog post about this, so it can be read by school children, if they find out about it and read it before their parents take away their cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc. Because it’s their future, not dinosaurs like you and me’s future, which is in play.

I rest my hope on the collective will of humanity to evolve to a better future – despite the efforts of the likes of those like the cheetoh and the android. And yeah, we do teach critical thinking in schools but it is far from the level needed to sort through the quagmire of misinformation and propaganda and the barrage of social media muck-news. Much less about inner knowing and the true nature of reality.
