Jesus, Jimmy Carter, Ralph Nader, St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis, Donald Trump, JD Vance, Mike Johnson, Revelation and who knows what else?

The pope kisses Francis of Assisi’s feet in the climatical scene of the must see by all Christians film, “Brother Sun Sister Moon”.

A lawyer friend told me last fall that he had legally added Jimmy Carter to his name, because he thought Carter was an exemplary Christian.

In early 2002, Archangel Michael told me in my sleep, “God want’s Jimmy Carter to be president.” Carter had served one term, so he could be president again. That year, the Republican George W. Bush beat the Democrat John Kerry, with a lot of help from Ralph Nader, who ran on the Green Party ticket.

I dunno, if I had to search my life to find a more Christlike man, it would be the consumer protection lawyer Ralph Nader.

But back to my lawyer friend.

I sent him a copy of the “On this Easter Sunday when Christendom still seems far more wowed by miracles than by living as Jesus in the Gospels lived and taught others to live…” post, and he emailed back, “Thank you for sharing, Sloan.  Those are some challenging red letters indeed!  I’m thankful that Chris has someone like you for this chapter of her life. A fellow, serious, disciple of Christ.”

I had included in that post something I never heard mentioned in a Christian church, and during my earlier days on this planet, I spent a lot of time in Christian churches:

Luke 14: 26 NIV

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.”

It took me a long time to understand what Jesus meant was I had to put God first, regardless of what other people thought or wanted me to do.

As for hating my own life…

In early 1987, I felt I had failed in every way a man could fail. I had failed in marriage twice. I had failed as a father to my daughters. I had failed in business. I had failed as a writer. I was out of rope and I knew it.

In that desperate state I prayed in my apartment one morning, “Dear God, please help me. I do not wish to die like this, failed.” I paused, said, “I offer my life to human service.” Then, I went on about the day.

Maybe ten days passed. I woke in the wee hours and saw two white spirit beings hovering above me in the dark. I heard in my mind, “This will push you to your limits but you asked for it and we are going to give it to you.” I remembered the prayer. I saw a white flash and was jolted by something electrical. That happened two more times. The two beings faded out.

The changes began slowly, but the course was set. I was stood before endless mirrors looking at me, even now.

I was pushed beyond any limits I could have possibly imagined: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

I never was told I had to be a Christian or had to attend church.

I was told salvation through Jesus is living as he lived and taught in the Gospels, and to the extent people do that, they are saved by Jesus, even if they are Buddhist, Taoist, Shintoist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, New Age, Pagan, Wiccan, Druid, Theosophist, Native American, agnostic, or atheist.

I came to know I’m always in church, and many times I have recommended Christians watch “Brother Sun Sister Moon,” which is about how the young Francis of Assisi, son of a wealthy merchant, was shanghaied by Jesus, who asked Francis to help him restore his church, and how how Francis’s wealthy merchant father responded to that, poorly, and how the Roman Catholic Church in Francis’ area of Italy responded to that, poorly, and how the Pope responded to meeting Francis some years later. The Pope got down on his hands and knees and kissed the dirty barefooted feet of dressed in brown burlap Francis.

Let me back up and start over.

Pope Francis died yesterday, after meeting the day before with America’s Vice President JD Vance, whom I read online yesterday had converted to Catholicism a few years ago, and he described himself as a “baby Catholic”.

A dear friend of mine, who has worked in a Wall Street firm since he was in high school, texted me yesterday evening: “Maybe if J D Vance made a visit to see Trump at the White House, God will take it from there.”

When I visited my friend in his office earlier yesterday, he told me of a male client who voted for Trump, because he promised to come down hard on immigration, and did so after he took office in January of this year. My friend said he told the Trumper that every month sorry Joe Biden was president, he deported more aliens than Trump has deported since he became president, and to go check it out and let my friend know if he was mistaken, and my friend didn’t hear back from him.

My friend told me of a female client who said she had voted for Trump, but she didn’t figure, since he was really good at business, that he would destroy the economy. My friend said he gave her a sad look and said Trump bankrupted 6 times and stiffed a lot of people he owed money, and now she hates Trump.

I texted my friend last night, “Let us pray, my son, God takes them both.”

The Witch read those texts and said to me, “The House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson then will be president” I nodded and found this online from ever ready Wikipedia :-):

Johnson was among 147 Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.[55]

Johnson has worked closely with the Christian groups Answers in GenesisLouisiana Family ForumAlliance Defending Freedom, and Focus on the Family.[56][57]

Then, I found this CNN article:

How Speaker Johnson helped Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election

By Marshall Cohen, CNN

Published 5:00 AM EDT, Fri April 12, 2024

Years before becoming House speaker, Republican Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana played a leading role aiding Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

That history will be on display Friday, with Johnson set to deliver remarks alongside the former president about “election integrity” – a phrase Trump often uses to describe the lie that the 2020 election was rigged and unfounded concerns about future mass voter fraud.

Johnson carved out an influential role after the 2020 election, helping Trump’s attempts to subvert the will of the people and overturn the legitimate results. Many of his actions took place behind-the-scenes or didn’t break through beyond his Louisiana district, while more prominent pro-Trump figures soaked up the post-election attention.

Like many Republicans, he questioned the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s victory and raised concerns about the expansion of mail-in voting during the Covid-19 pandemic. His gripes echoed longstanding, garden-variety GOP complaints about mail-in voting, which largely ignore the reality that there is a staggeringly tiny level of fraud in US elections.

But he also promoted perhaps the most farfetched conspiracy theory bouncing around at the time: that two voting technology companies, Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems, flipped millions of votes from Trump to Biden as part of an international plot.

“The allegations about these voting machines, some of them being rigged with this software by Dominion, there’s a lot of merit to that,” Johnson told a Louisiana radio station in November 2020, adding, that there was “a software system that was used all around the country, that is suspect because it came from Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela.”

These claims were false. Dominion and Smartmatic later filed defamation lawsuits against many of the pro-Trump media outlets and figures who peddled the lie, though they didn’t sue Johnson. Fox News settled with Dominion for more than $787 million.

Johnson also claimed that “in Georgia, it really was rigged” because “the system is set up for massive fraud,” even though Republican officials oversaw three statewide tallies that confirmed Biden’s razor-thin victory and did not uncover systematic irregularities.

Then I found in Wikipedia :-):

Presidential succession is referred to multiple times in the U.S. ConstitutionArticle II, Section 1, Clause 6, the 12th Amendment20th Amendment, and 25th Amendment. The vice president is designated as first in the presidential line of succession by the Article II succession clause, which also authorizes Congress to provide for a line of succession beyond the vice president. It has done so on three occasions. The Presidential Succession Act was adopted in 1947, and last revised in 2006. The 25th Amendment, adopted in 1967, also establishes procedures for filling an intra-term vacancy in the office of the vice president.

The Presidential Succession Act refers specifically to officers beyond the vice president acting as president rather than becoming president when filling a vacancy. The Cabinet has 15 members, of which the secretary of state is highest and fourth in line (after the president pro tempore of the Senate); the other Cabinet secretaries follow in the order of when their departments (or the department of which their department is the successor) were created. Those heads of department who are constitutionally not “eligible to the Office of President” are disqualified from assuming the powers and duties of the president through succession and skipped to the next in line. Since 1789, the vice president has succeeded to the presidency intra-term on nine occasions: eight times due to the incumbent’s death, and once due to resignation. No one lower in the line of succession has ever been called upon to act as president.

Then I said to myself, it ain’t gonna do America any good for God to take Trump, Vance, Johnson, etc.

So, what is God donna do? I ain’t got no clue.

The pope got onto Trump about him not being kind to immigrants in America.

The Democrats opened America’s doors wide to immigrants from just about anywhere, figuring they might become citizens and vote Democrat. That’s what got Trump elected twice.

I wish the pope had gotten onto Trump about:

Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Matthew 7:3-5

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Matthew 25:31-46

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

It looks to me that God is waiting to see what the U.S. Military, the Republicans in the US Congress and the Republicans on the US Supreme Court are going to do about Trump, for if they do not rise up and stand their ground against him and his legions, then what can God do that would make any difference, other than send an awful plague to America that makes the Covid-19 shutdown look like an Easter Bunny weenie roast?

Or, Revelation finally happens and everyone on Earth finally knows that’s about?

Or, an alien race from another star system invades Earth and takes over everything?
